We interpret urban exploration, or 'urbex', as a way of learning about the ordinary and everyday places in the city, which are off the tourist maps, but filled with memory, meaning and significance for residents of the area. These spaces are not 'abandoned' or 'hidden', except, arguably, in an epistemological sense. Participants will visit planned and unplanned neighbourhoods, active streets, bustling markets, ‘informal’ settlements, and open spaces, in the great urban laboratory of Delhi NCR. Each walk ends with a discussion on a planning/policy theme andon how urban spaces are produced under the combined influence of multiple vectors. Join us for an urban exploration and learn about policy from the ground up.
